Paint an old trunk, cover the top with sponge and vintage fabric and convert it into a window seat, or lop the top off old dining chairs, paint them in bright colors and convert into stools for the children room.
- Use pieces of it: Even if a piece out of your old furniture is beyond repair, try and salvage knobs and handles for re-use
- Recycle: By savoring away few good pieces for re-use can help you give your home a new look every year.
- Hide flaws: Cover an old table with a chequered cloth, or your old plastic chairs with white damask for an outdoor lunch.
- Use dead spaces and dull corners: The area under the staircase can be transformed into a bar counter and good looking glasses and bottles can be stored there to give a nice look to the corner.
- Use less space for lighting: Use of wall mounted bedside lamps instead of lamps is not just new but will also spare a lot of space for other necessary articles on your bedside table.
- Shelves with sliding door: In the back and front porches, put up a set of shelves with sliding doors, to store garden tools, empty bottles or even old newspapers.
- Create bay windows: you can have a comfortable reading seat along the window ledge, and get cupboards or shelves installed below storage.
